Vicente has worked for the leading financial papers in Spain: Expansion (2000-2005) and elEconomista (2005-2008), and as a Trainee at the Financial Times .He graduated in Journalism from the University of Navarra, specializing in Finance at Seminario de Información Económica.

Borja Fernandez
Chief Technology Officer

Borja, before facing the direction of IT in Unience, has worked for 6 years developing web applications in different areas, two years as part of the development team in Unience. He is a Computer Engineer from the Universidad Europea de Madrid in 2007.

María Tejero Salcedo
Community Manager

María Tejero is a social media and corporative communication specialist with a wide background in financial sector. Since 2004 she has worked for such companies as BBVA, Intereconomía, Caja Madrid, Thinking Heads and RMG Asociados. Graduate in Economí and Journalism by Universidad Carlos III of Madrid, she works as Community Manager at Unience since 2010.

Nicolás Oriol

“Nico” has been a top financial tech leader credited with making Bankinter one of Europe’s leading online banks and building the first app to sell immediate loans through SMS in 2001. There, he served as Director of Corporate Development, Assistant Director of Information Systems and Head of the mobile banking division. He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Comillas-ICAI and an M.Sc from MIT.

Juan Arena de la Mora
Chairman of the Advisory Board
Juan Arena was born in Mexico City in 1943, and is married with 4 children. He joined Bankinter in 1970, and since then has held different positions within the bank: Assistant General Manager (82), General Manager (85), Director (87), CEO (93) and Chairman (02-07). He is currently a member of the Boards of Directors of Ferrovial, Laboratories Almirall, Everis, Sol Meliá and Grupo Prisa. Member of the European Advisory Board of Harvard Bussines School. Chairman of the Professional Council of ESADE, a member of Spencer Stuart's Advisory Board. He is also a member of the Governing Board of the Harvard Club Spain, Chairman of the Spanish foundation Seres, and a member of the Board of Deusto Business School. He was awarded the Spanish Great Cross for Civil Merit for his collaboration as a member of the Soto Commission on Development of the Information Society. He has a degree in Electromechanical Engineering from ICAI University, an MBA from ICADE, a Diploma in Taxation Studies, Diploma in Evolutionary child Psychology and is a Graduate of Harvard's AMP (99). He has taught Cultural Anthropology at the American Institute in Spain and Financial Reporting and Control at Harvard Business School.
Almudena Sáinz de la Cuesta
Almudena Sáinz de la Cuesta was General Manager and Head of Securities for Spain at Credit Suisse's Investment Banking division, and headed the securities department for Spain and Portugal since 2000. She worked in Credit Suisse First Boston's Frankfurt offices since1990, and before that for BANIF (Banco Santander), where she held the post of Analyst for the Spanish market. Almudena has a Degree in Economics and Business Administration from ICADE, and speaks Spanish, German, English and French.
Borja Pérez Arauna
Borja Pérez Arauna is currently Investment Officer at TIMON, S.A., member of the Board of Directors of PRISA and Chairman of Qualitas Equity Partners SGECR. Borja Pérez Arauna has a Degree in Business Administration from the Universidad Complutense and an MBA from the Instituto de Empresa.
Carlos Muñoz-Rojas
Born in Madrid in 1971, he is married and has two children. From 1995 to 2005 he has worked for Airtel Movil, Retevisión and Vodafone, in different departments, such as Billing Control, Technical Support and Marketing, and in this last department was responsible for the online store. He is currently CEO of EDIFICIOS FUENTEMAR 16-18 SA, through which he invests in real estate and hotel assets. Carlos has a Degree in Business Administration from the EUROPEAN BUSINESS SCHOOL and an Executive MBA from the Instituto de Empresa in 2005.
Felipe Oriol Díaz de Bustamante
Felipe Oriol is Chairman and Founder of Corpfin Capital, existing since 1990. Before that, he worked for Citicorp as head of Investment Banking for Southern Europe, and at Banco Urquijo as Managing Director of the International Division. Felipe Oriol was a member of the Management Committee of the Spanish Venture Capital Association (Asociación Española de Capital Riesgo or ASCRI), and was its Chairman for the period 2002 - 2003. He was the founder and first Chairman of the Wharton Alumni Club in Spain. He is a former member of the Wharton European Executive Board. He chaired the Fundación Empresa y Sociedad foundation from 1996 until October 2008. Felipe Oriol has an MBA from Wharton and a Degree in law from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid.
Fernando Bautista Sagüés
Fernando Bautista is managing partner of Freshfield's financial practice since 1998. He joined the Law Firm Garrigues in 1981, becoming a partner in 1989. He has acted as advisor in the privatisation of the largest Spanish companies and has experience in IPOs, takeover bids, restructurings and in financial markets generally. He has taken part in several entrepreneurial projects including Step One, which seeks the incorporation of Spanish start-up companies for the American market. Fernando Bautista has a Degree in Law and a Diploma in Business Administration from ICADE.
Gonzalo Rodríguez Marizcurrena
Gonzalo Rodríguez is Founder and CEO of Aquanima y and Co-founder and Chairman of Optize BureauInfo. Before that, he was CEO and Co-founder of BtBfactory ,and Chairman and Co-founder of Canela Foods. He was also a member of the Board of Directors and one of the first investors in Edreams. Prior to this, he was a partner at McKinsey & Company for six years, where he created and headed the Business Technology Office for Spain and Portugal. He also led the @McKinsey e-commerce practice in Spain and Portugal, and was a member of the @McKinsey leading group globally. He has worked in several of the most important Internet projects undertaken in Spain and Latin America, and in telecommunications and IT projects in different industries. Before McKinsey, he worked in IBM's systems engineering department. Gonzalo Rodríguez has a degree in Computer Engineering and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Juan José Fernández Bardera
Juan José Fernández (JJ) is founder and Managing Director of ELCANO SICAV. Before that he worked for 10 years at Merrill Lynch, in New York, London and Madrid as head of the Structured & Alternative Investment Solutions department for the private banking division and Latin America. Before that, he worked for two years at Banco Santander in Madrid in the fixed-income division, and between 1996 and 1999 at Bankers Trust private bank in London and New York. JJ has a Degree in Economics from INEDE (94), a Degree in Business Administration from UIC (01), and a Masters Degree in Quantitative Finance (04) from the Escuela de Finanzas Aplicadas. Between 2006 and 2007, JJ took the General Management program at IESE. He currently teaches in the High-level Portfolio Management Program at Instituto de Empresa and regularly collaborates with CEU and ESADE. He is a member of the Board of Bobath Foundation.
María Calvo
María Calvo is head of Corporate Social Responsibility at Grupo Vips. She has been managing director of the Fundación Ashoka in Spain and General Manager of eBay Spain for seven years, leading the team which launched and developed the platform to obtain critical mass in the Spanish market. Prior to that, she was Marketing Director at Telepizza. Maria began her career in the company Bausch & Lomb, where she held the positions of Product Manager, Marketing Manager for Europe of the brand Ray-Ban, and Marketing Director of the Eyewear Division for Spain and Portugal, and subsequently for the EMEA region. María Calvo has an MBA from the Instituto de Empresa of Madrid and a Degree in Economics and Business Administration from the University of Zaragoza.
Salvador García Atance
Salvador García Atance is the Chairman of the Fundación Lealtad foundation. In 1980 he was appointed Technical General Secretary of Spanish Ministry of Economy and Finance. In 1984, he became founder and Chairman of AB Asesores, and in 1999 he was appointed Chairman of Morgan Stanley Spain. Salvador García Atance is a State Economist and Commercial Specialist (Técnico Comercial y Economista del Estado, in the highest category of the Spanish Civil Service) and has a Ph.D. in Economics from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Economics DPhil Studies from Oxford University (UK) and a Masters Degree in Economics from Northwestern University (USA)
Walter Scherk
Walter Scherk has been Managing Partner at Strategic Investment Advisors (Switzerland) since March 2005. Until then, he was General Manager of the Asset Management Division of Ahorro Corporación, whose business analysis was described by the Wall Street Journal as one of the best in Europe. From this position he developed the Research División, created several funds and supervised the activities of the fund management company. He has also worked for the Barcelona Stock Exchange, and been Managing Director of a plastics company. Walter Scherk has an MBA from Harvard University and a Degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Barcelona. He taught finance at IESE business school in Barcelona
